Off We Go…

23 years ago my parents attended a homeschooling conference that changed their lives… and 23 years later, we’re still attending that homeschool conference. Every.Single.Year.

I’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time. And it has finally arrived… a huge highlight of our year!

To be quite honest, the last many days have felt like a whirlwind of cleaning, baking, planting, teaching, organizing, packing, and scrambling to get orders out the door and office work completed. It’s a pretty serious thing to take off of normal life for a week! 🙂

Sometimes life is a series of small events that mean so much more than words can tell. So here’s a little glimpse of our week in review… enjoy! 🙂

Lots of homemade Granola! Some for our trip… some for a friend… and some for when we return… 🙂

Packaged orders, ready to mail…

Clean clothes hanging up to dry…

Checking the beehives… honey harvest is coming up soon!!!

Washing and cleaning out the van for a long trip…

A happy little boy at play…

Parent’s Date night… a certain someone {who shall remain nameless} *accidentally* made 6 batches of jelly pancake batter {jelly pancakes are a date night tradition for us kids}.

6 batches {we never quite manage to finish eating all of 3 batches}…

Jonathan graciously volunteered to cook up *all that we could eat* … and we continued eating pancakes the following day, for breakfast and lunch {quite seriously}. Jelly pancakes anyone?

I have a strong feeling that the next date night will consist of something other than the norm 😉

We attended the 40th wedding anniversary celebration of some *very* dear friends!

Craft supplies for a girls’ program I am helping to lead at the conference…

Cleaning days…

My stack of reading material for the trip… {I never read just one book at once… it makes for a more interesting life when many topics are on the mind} 😉

Yes… and that’s me after a looonnnngg day. 🙂

I’ll be back soon… hopefully with stories and pictures from the conference!!! 🙂

I love “having a Mary Heart in a Martha World’! I have read it at least 4 times already and am always so encouraged and inspired 🙂
Yes, I think you’re right about the E-reader, although I guess I enjoy having an actual book to read in the car or outside or wherever… especially since a lot of other things I do require computer-time… 🙂
