There’s a new recipe in the shop today. Wednesday is natural dessert day (no white sugar), and I always look forward to the exciting challenge of coming up with something new and yummy! And since I never really follow a recipe completely (lol), there’s always room to experiment, make notes for next time, and add to the shop when there’s a 5 star keeper… 😉
I’ve tried something similar to this a couple of times, but I just haven’t found any perfect recipe to play off of … up until today when I had NO IDEA what to make and then … a lightbulb moment with “something like this…”, which resulted in a dessert we all absolutely loved!
So here it is… Berry Cream Cheese Shortbread Bars. Nothing could taste more perfect on a hot Summer day, especially with the fourth of July right around the corner. It’s buttery, crumbly, smooth and creamy, sweet and juicy – bursting with the flavor of ripe strawberries and blueberries. Yum! ❤
While we’re on the topic of sweet, did I mention that it’s officially honey harvest season? My brother David just brought in gallons and gallons of delicious, pure, raw honey from our beehives. I sweetened this dessert with honey and maple syrup (it has absolutely no honey taste for those who don’t like honey-tasting desserts… such as my dad) 😉
Enjoy this lovely Summer day! 🙂
