“Research and love for my aging parents led me to develop this face and body cream. Some people are blessed with healthy skin all their lives, but unfortunately, some find their skin tearing and bruising easily with age. I selected emu oil as the primary carrier oil for the helichrysum essential oil, because of its healing and skin-penetrating properties. After making this formula, I have discovered its benefits on my own skin, and use it as a day and night face and hand cream.” – Emelia, Elkwood Farms

Emu Oil is a naturally powerful “transdermal carrier” {effectively penetrating the skin for absorption}, rich in omega 3.6 and 9 {essential skin-loving fatty acids}. It is known to soothe the discomfort of skin irritations such as insect bites, psoriasis, burns, dry skin and cold sores. It is an excellent emollient and skin moisturizer, and serves as a local anti-inflammatory, eases  muscle and joint pain/discomfort, and reduces bruising and dark circles under the eyes.

The emu oil in this cream is a product of the United States. Great care is given to ensure it is free of growth hormones, steroids, and medications.

Helichrysum Essential Oil comes from the sunflower family and has a reputation of being non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing. It has been used effectively as a pain reliever, due to its anti-inflammatory properties. The oil is used topically for wound-healing and is gentle enough for children suffering from inflammation and dermatitis. As a first-aid oil, it can be applied to wounds to reduce swelling, disinfect and promote healing through tissue regeneration. The oil has strong antibacterial properties, active against all types of bacteria, including staphylococcus, which can also help those with acne-prone skin. It is known to fade scars, heal stretch marks, and reduce the appearance of surgical scars and blemishes. Helichrysum contains “diketones” which help reduce scar tissue and stimulate the growth of new skin tissue and is touted as the perfect addition to skin care formulations for those with sensitive skin. Those with rosacea and dermatitis can use this oil to help fade redness and soothe dryness. Helichrysum is moisturizing and can be used to effectively prevent dryness and cracking of the skin. An exciting, more recent discovery with this oil, is its anti-aging property – helping regenerate skin tissue and relieve inflammation, while giving the skin a more firm, youthful, and vibrant appearance.
