This Sort of Day

Friday. It’s one of our house-cleaning days  … the last day of school for the week … dad and mom’s date night {also when all of us kids tidy and organize everything again for the weekend} … and this particular Friday the oldest sister is out of town.

Busy busy busy! Much to do. Yesterday’s final show prep involved a lot of fun highlights – many of them unique to this family-friendly outdoor event in town… 🙂

Filling orders…

Fresh baked cookies {in place of candy} for the kids at Union County Family Fun Day…  each vendor is asked to bring a sweet treat. 🙂

Fresh mint {different varieties of peppermint, and spearmint} from my herb garden … 5 gallons of Mint Iced Tea for the Family Fun Day tomorrow. (We’re handing out samples of 2 iced tea blends and selling them by the cup).

Homegrown strawberries in abundance!

Part of my herb garden.

Most of this year’s seedlings are in other places, or a little small to pick out in the picture. Part of my daily routine for this week is to water several hundred seedlings each morning and evening {most of them were planted last week, and others this week}. I absolutely love weeding with the mulch gardening method {although there are very few weeds to pull, which can be nice during super busy seasons of life 😉 …}, so I’ll often grab a few with each watering. More pictures coming soon! I took advantage of my iPhone to grab pictures of each type of plant in my garden this year. 🙂

Preparing the 2nd iced tea … Organic Tropical Hibiscus Tea.

And that’s just a small part of yesterday in pictures. I’m off to a big event in Waxhaw today, this time with my sister Bethany {yay!!!!!}, and other family members popping in throughout the day.

P.S. Get this! It’s 62 degrees {working up to 82 mid-afternoon}, sunny, blue skies … oh and did I mention ZERO chance of rain, with a 5% chance the last hour of the event?

Ah, prayer works. Is our God not amazing?! He holds everything in His complete power. He is sovereign over all. And He cares about even the tiniest, minute details of our lives. Like whether or not it rains on a single little town in North Carolina today. Praise God!

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” – Psalm 14:1 KJV
“Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.” – 1 Samuel 12:16 KJV
“O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.  In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.” – Psalm 95:1-6 KJV
