Hello December

And it’s another new month! Wait … I guess we’re already practically 10 days into it. πŸ˜›

Cookies for the trash guys and mail carriers – a family tradition of how many years now (?) … and counting.

I had to post this picture because he’s adorable and he’s adorable … and between the 2 of them I can’t handle this much adorableness. The end. πŸ™‚

And sometimes when you’re driving down the road on errands {with a sister} you are privileged to see sights like this. And when such a thing happens, you act responsible, and hand over your phone so that while you {responsibly} focus on driving, said sister can snap a photo {or perhaps 2}. πŸ˜‰

One evening I stayed up a little later to help the oldest brother finish a batch of the most delectable fudge yumminess ever. Seriously. And fyi, while he gave the greater part of it away as gifts, he did save a slice for us all to sample. πŸ™‚

Sister selfie at the barn – Bethy was there too.

A proud sister moment happened when we prepared yogurt for dinner one evening … and Tiny Tim opted to build himself a ginormous “gourmet salad” {instead} as he calls them.

IMG_7378In preparation for our big Christmas party over the weekend, I spend an hour one afternoon organizing our game closet {aka stretching my character to new dimensions lol}. Organizing really is quite fun … except perhapsΒ the part where you have to sort through a pile of loose odds and ends – which belong in 25 different games.

But in the end it is all worth it. Most definitely.

Homemade turkey sausage for the freezer … one of many cooking and baking projects this week, in preparation for Christmas guests!

And another favorite = frozen peanut butter chocolate pie. Be forewarned, thisΒ pieΒ should serve at least 50. LOL πŸ˜‰

And … Buddy, enjoying the beautiful outdoors one afternoon, while we bounced our hearts out on the brand new trampoline.  ❀

One Friday evening all of us siblings went into town for the Christmas lighting. 100,000 lights lit up the town at once, following the countdown. Fun times! We took a carriage ride, drank hot chocolate, munchedΒ on cookies, and took Tiny Tim on a few rides. We also dropped in to Provisions where David was building sandwiches all evening, to say hello. And from the bridge I’d say we had one of the best views of the town. πŸ˜€ It was a memorable experience, and one that we thoroughly enjoyed!

We waited in line for 45 minutes to take a carriage ride.

Creativity = a boy and his wooden blocks on a quiet morning.

And in case you should have a few extra dollars to spend this winter, I discovered this fabulous deal the other day while shopping.

LOL πŸ˜›

Not to make anyone feel bad, but this is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. Makes me want to head outside and chop down a tree. πŸ˜‰

I ❀ Christmas lights on a dark night. So warm and cheerful. πŸ™‚

And … joy! As of this evening I’ve sold all my happy Christmas gift baskets. Time to make a new batch of gift baskets – perhaps some will make their way into the shop soon.

I love the simple task of finding unique containers here and there and everywhere … and putting together a collection that will bless someone’s home.

Other recent highlights include setting up our new trampoline {and having a blast – 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there} … spreading mulch {making headway on 5 tremendous piles in our front yard!} … filling orders for the holiday rush … making meals and desserts for the freezer {in preparation for some dear friends coming for Christmas} … and doing errands with siblings in town.

Can you believe Christmas is just a couple of weeks away? 16 days and counting down!
